More from July

The Love Sac.  Jason finally found a way to get it out of Utah and back to our house, and was willing to give up the couch in the basement to get it.  The real miracle, though, is that we were able to fit it and all of us and our stuff in the van on the way home.  Here is everybody relaxing after church.
Dexter has had some milestones lately and making some pretty funny faces while doing it.  Trying solid food for the first time:

And these are just some good shots of this goofy little guy.  He is the first one of our babies to enjoy being on his stomach.  He can roll over both ways now and is motivated mostly by trying to get something that his brother or sister has.
Can I help you?

Cow Appreciation Day 2012

Our third year participating in the glorious Cow Appreciation Day at Chic-fil-a.  Sadly, Addie got more excited about 'Cow Day' than she did about the Fourth of July.  What can I say?  We love free food, and we'll do just about anything for it.
Our little cows all ready to go.

Cutest cow family ever!  Addie and Andres love the cow.  Andres actually refers to the mall as the Cow 'Seum because of the cow and Children's Museum there.

I'm not sure why there was a tractor in the mall, and I'm also not sure if they were supposed to be climbing on it.  But as soon as Andres saw it, he wouldn't stop trying to get over there and try it.

Another cow on a tractor.  Completely normal, right?

"Bewah Lake"

Here are some pictures from the other portion of our vacation, spent with my family up in Bear Lake (or as Addie pronounces it, bewah lake).  We had a great time, although it wasn't always so fun at night with a baby who got sick and wasn't at home.

Just chillin', cause we can.

He's become quite the little ham.  He started making these faces when he realized he was being photographed.

This girl is so goofy.

Sisters.  Aren't we so cute?  Because it was still pretty cool there, we only went to the beach twice and we remembered the camera for one of those, the one that happened to be without the kids (besides Dexter).

Paige and Dexter

I'm not really sure why, but my mom bought these matching nightgowns for all of us and so we had to pose and be all cute and stuff.

Provo: climbing and cards

Also while in Provo, the whole family went climbing.  That's right, everyone (well, everyone except Jeff, who wasn't there and Dexter)!  I'm not sure why there aren't any pictures of Jason climbing, or any of John or Karlena.  Anyway, I do know that everyone had fun and were glad to enjoy what Kevin, Caitlin and Kim have been enjoying for a long time.

Addie of course wanted Caitlin to come up to get her down.

This was Dexter's contribution.

Proof that I reached the top.

Pretty impressive, huh?  Way to go Andres!
We had so much fun with everybody and can't wait to do it again.  I think, though, Provo might have set the standard pretty high for future vacations.  Maybe next year in Iowa?
Kevin with the kids before church - Addie got to go to the Sunbeam class that Kevin and Caitlin teach and had a great time.

This was the scene everynight - games.  We had a lot of fun!

Addie's Fourth

We celebrated Addie's birthday while we were in Provo with the Gonzalez clan.  It was very low key, but lots of fun. We all went to get cupcakes at Sweet Tooth Fairy.  I had never been there before.  All I can say is WOW!  It was amazing!  We might have ordered more cupcakes than we had people, and it might have been my fault because I convinced everybody we had to try all of them!  So good!

Anyway, for her birthday Addie wanted to have German Pancakes and she asked for a princess bike and a pink iPod (I was actually terrified when I heard my almost 4 year old tell Grandma that over the phone).  Thanks to Grandma Karlena, she got her birthday meal.  But she didn't get either of the presents she asked for (sad, I know).  She did, however get some pretty cool things.  She got a lei and hula skirt, a new dress, a Cinderella barbie along with Aurora's dresses (her favorite princess), and a fancy nightgown from Grandma Heidi.

We were in Bear Lake the next week and Addie got to do one more thing that was on her birthday wish list: make a fancy princess cake.  Addie helped me make and decorate this beautiful castle out of cupcakes (we actually tried to stack them first, but it didn't work very well).  She placed every single one of the decorations (she had lots of help with the Happy Birthday) and sprinkled the sprinkles.

I'm pretty sure her favorite part was being able to decorate it herself.  Happy Birthday Addie!  We love you!
At four years old, Addie is:
  • very independent and is very good at helping mom with lots of things.  Just this last week she tried to unload the dishwasher all by herself as a surprise to me.
  • a wonderful big sister.  She loves to help feed Dexter and she and Andres have so much fun playing together.  Sometimes they're a bit too silly, but they have fun.
  • wants to do something 'fun' everyday.  She asks me everyday what day it is and what we do on that day.  I think she's going to love going to preschool every morning next month (I might really enjoy it too).
  • wants to be a Fairy Princess Mermaid when she grows up, but when she grows up again she wants to be a doctor.
