Pajama-jama Time

The traditional Christmas Eve pajamas! This year most of us got really cool onesies and boy did we feel super awesome! They were very warm and cozy.

The whole bunch.
For some reason, they made me feel like an Oompa Loompa.

The boys

The girls.

The kids.

Winter Wonderland

The Bear Lake Dacha was the perfect place to spend our Christmas Break. We couldn't get all the way up in our van, or even in my parents car with 4 wheel drive. Luckily my parents have an ATV at the house for just such occasions. Being in such a remote location wasn't as exciting for Jason who loves the business of civilization, but I loved it.  We were able to go sledding down the road because there were no other cars. We also saw a family of moose who often choose the backyard as a hangout. We went snow shoeing and watched Uncle Michael snowboard down the driveway. We had a great time!

From our spot on the hill, we could see the Bear Lake Monster swimming out in the open since there were no boats to hide from.

Bear Lake Fun

We had a ton of fun of all sorts with the Dexter's in Bear Lake. A lot of that fun was related to food, of course. Cause that's how we roll.

Taylor, Addie and Grandma decorating Grandpa's gingerbread cookies.

Jason and Dexter doing some decorating.

Paige and Andres working hard on that gingerbread cookie.

Grandpa hard at work in the kitchen in his super cool hat.

Chillin' with Uncle Michael.

Addie had a brilliant idea for entertainment one morning "I have a great idea, Grandpa, you should give me a mani-pedi!". He was only too happy to oblige.

And our wonderfully decorated gingerbread house.

Visiting Santa

We also had time this year to go and visit with Santa. The line was pretty long, but the kids did really well.  As a matter of fact, I seemed to have a harder time with the waiting than I did. It's always so funny to see how kids react in front of Santa. Both Addie and Andres were talking big about what they would say to Santa and what they would ask for. When the time comes, it's just like out of A Christmas Story where he agrees to wanting a football. When Santa asked Andres what he wanted, he looked around the room and said a robot (never heard anything before or since about a robot, but there was a cool one in Santa's Workshop). And Addie simply said "A Barbie". Too funny. But it was worth it to get a picture with all of them smiling.

And this is what they looked like on the way home. What a good big sister to let her brother rest his head on her shoulder.

Christmastime is Here

We love Christmastime around here.  Even though we were going to Bear Lake to spend Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa Dexter, we wanted to have our own tree and get all spruced up. We listened to Christmas music and Jason even made a cardboard frame for the TV that looked like a fireplace.

Love this face.
Addie helped everyone pick out clothes one Sunday so we would all coordinate.  She as so proud of herself.

Random November Happenings

When going back through my pictures after Halloween, for some reason there was mostly food there. But here are some random everyday happenings at our house in the month of November.  I was a little bit busy trying to get my food blog started, but we still managed to have some fun.  And some of the fun was had because I was busy:)

I'm not sure exactly sure what this look is; I would call it punk rock, but I don't think Addie knows what that is.

Another day she was feeling a little more innocent and wanted her hair curled. This girl has so many sides and can be so fun.

I was surprised to see this picture of a real smile from Dexter!  Usually he does a really cheesy smile, but here's the real one.

This cupboard has become a source of great entertainment for all the kids.  They take out the pots and pans and climb in while I'm in the kitchen.  You'll notice there is a lock on there which Jason put on, but I kind of need to access the pots and pans and cutting board and cooling rack several times a day and it's really hard to unlock.  Plus, the lock just made the cupboard more exciting to play in, so I just leave it unlocked.

This happened one pleasant afternoon while I was trying to get some things done.  It took them about 5 minutes to dump every single toy on the grass as well as bring out every chair they could find. It took more than 5 minutes to clean it all up.

Halloween 2013 v 2.0

This is how they went out trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. Scooby Doo (a different one that fits the costume a bit better), a rockstar, and Iron Man. They looked pretty awesome and got quite a bit of candy (that they later turned into a local dentist for $).

Can you see the star painted around Addie's eye?  Jason painted it because he's an awesome Dad.

Jason leant Addie his guitar strap so she could look all sorts of rockstarish out on the street.

Halloween 2013

We were all pretty proud of our costumes this year. The kids all like watching Scooby Doo and dressing up that way was a lot of fun. Addie was a bit embarrassed about driving in the car with the paint and flowers, though.

At the church Trunk or Treat

Fred and Shaggy

Shaggy and Velma

Fred and Daphne

Shaggy and a very grumpy Scooby Doo.  I guess he needed a Scooby Snack.

Playing some games at the ward party

I'm sorry, but is this not the cutest Fred you've ever seen? We actually used Sun-in on his hair for a week or so to try to get it a little lighter.

Daphne was the winner of the donut on the rope contest.

We went to the pumpkin patch and there really isn't much more to say except look at these crazy kids
