The Zoo

With the weather getting nicer, we decided to take a day off of work and school and head to the zoo! We hadn't been yet, and the year membership was a pretty good deal considering that we get a whole year for less than what it would cost for our family to go twice.

We had a good time exploring and finding our favorite animals. Dexter was seriously disappointed that there were no elephants. And seriously, what kind of zoo doesn't have elephants?

We had everyone wearing a hat since we have some of the whitest skin on the planet.

The new penguin house was pretty cool.

Addie had fun looking for the rare turtle that she wrote a report about at school.

Rhinos and zebras and playgrounds. We sure had a great time! We'll be coming back for sure.

Birthday for Dad

Our favorite dad celebrated his 34th and we did it right. In an odd coincidence, all of our birthdays this year fall on a Sunday except Addie. Which is my favorite kind of birthday, since it's so chill and usually spent with just my favorite people. SO, we got to hear some awesome guitar playing. Look how happy everyone looks!

This year, the only thing Jason said he wanted for his cake was chocolate and peanut butter. I might have gone a bit crazy. There was an oreo cookie crust, then a peanut butter blondie with Reese's peanut butter cups in it. Then covered with caramel and melted chocolate and then some crushed peanut butter oreos. It was good, but really rich. Luckily he took it to work the next day and it disappeared rather quickly.

We sure love this guy! He's the best at snuggling and being cozy and making us laugh. He's the best at teaching us new things and helping us understand that being silly is the best. Happy Birthday Jason! Hope this next year is a great one!
