The tie skirt

Jason really loves polyester ties and brought a lot home from his mission. He already made a quilt out of some of them, but was not completely satisfied. In Idaho he saw someone with a skirt made out of ties and since then I knew I was never going to hear the end of it until he had one too, but for me (of course). So, when we were in Cali for Christmas we stocked up on some more brown polyesters and Kim and Karlena kept looking after we left. Then while Jason was looking for a job, that was one of the projects we worked on together (he would distract Addie so that I could sew). And here is the final product. Don't look too closely, it's my first attempt at a skirt and ever putting a zipper on anything. But it was fun.

Hair

Lately Addie's hair has been getting really long, but just on the top of her head. And the last few days it has been really curly too. I've been wanting to try to do something with her hair for a while, but have been a little hesitant. For those who don't know, I had short hair during all of the important learn-how-to-do-hair years and so am lacking in the cute hair department. I feel bad for Addie because she is going to have a lot of experiments done on her hair. Ironically, I cut my hair short when I was little because I hated when my mom did my hair and I even remember telling her that I was not going to ever do that to my daughters. Hehe. Anyway, I decided to start the experimentation and let's just say that it's not going very well. Jason thought it looked ridiculous. Anyway, here are some of the attempts:

Just a bow - kind of boring and she only kept it in for this picture.

This was Jason's least favorite. I was going for the Pebbles look, but he just thought it was pretty silly looking.

This was a little better but very hard to get her thin hair in those things and Jason still thought it looked ridiculous . . .

. . . but Addie seemed to like it.

This is the best shot we had of the curls that just appeared on top of her head and we couldn't get rid of. This is also Addie's favorite face lately. We've come to realize that she's trying to imitate us (or make fun of us) when we give her really cheesy smiles.

9 months on St. Patricks Day!

Addie is 9 months old! She has changed so much and she is growing so fast! Here's a little update from her check-up a few days ago:
She weighs 19.5 lbs
She is 26 1/4 inches long
She's basically the perfect little girl (the doctor didn't really say that, but her grandmothers keep saying it).

Addie has such a fun personality and we love getting to know her and see what new thing she will do each day. Here's a couple of pictures. It's really hard to get a good one of her, because she doesn't sit still, but here they are:
This dress is from Aunt Krystal and I've been waiting a long time for her to wear it - she looked so cute at church! The bell was Jason's idea so we can hear where she's going.
This is one of the only times that she sits still long enough to take a picture. She's definitely a good eater.

This was our St. Patricks Day dinner. I was planning on making pizza with leftover BBQ, and I thought it would be fun to make it a little festive. I've had really bad things happen with food coloring before, but I really liked the way it turned out; it was fun. Jason called it the play-doh pizza (the dough did look a lot like play-doh before I rolled it out) but also said that it was pretty tasty!

Update

Jason found a job, Addie has two teeth, and the weather is getting better all the time. Not really much else to report, so I've posted a video of Addie since she's the cutest one of the bunch and just keeps getting cuter all the time. This is Addie having a piggy-back ride.
