Life in the ? Lane
To get back to my original metaphor about our current life situation: We are definitely in the right hand lane; going at a regular, good pace but passing anyone going too slow. I feel like we're just coming out of survival mode. I'm just starting to feel like I can breathe; like I can actually enjoy this time in my life with a perfect little newborn and a very spunky toddler. I no longer feel like a zombie if I don't get a nap, and I've even been able to get a shower everyday - most days even when they're both awake (thank you Sesame Street)! There have even been a few nights when I've been able to get a semi-decent dinner on the table - not an
So, all in all, life is going. Going fast enough that no one is bored but slow enough that we can appreciate the stage that we're in (at least for now).

Bwilla bwilla
For the longest time, Addie's favorite movie was The Rescuers Down Under. She loves animals and would get so excited whenever it showed the big bird. As a matter of fact, that's what she called it: "bu" or bird. But ever since her dad watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with her, she chooses that anytime she sees it. We're talking the old school, classic Gene Wilder movie. She loves it! The last few days she's even been asking for it by name: "bwilla bwilla". Not only does she love the bright colors and the singing and all the candy and "cocat" (chocolate) but she cheers when Willy Wonka comes out of the factory the first time. She got upset the first time she watched it when Violet turned into a blueberry, but it seems she's believed us that she was ok because she's fine with that part now.
We definitely have some interesting children. They are not boring, that's for sure. This morning when Addie was throwing a fit because she wanted to pick up the baby but he was still asleep, he slept through the whole tantrum and when she finally got distracted by something else he had the biggest smile on his face but was still fast asleep. Goofy kids.
She sure loves her brother.
