Rocky Mountain National Park

In September, the whole Gonzalez family came and we had lots of fun.  We got to explore a bit of Colorado that we hadn't yet.  Before Kevin, Caitlin and Jude arrived we went to Estes Park and in to Rocky Mountain National Park.  It was a beautiful drive and the kids did great.  A herd of Elk walked right in front of our car as we were trying to turn out of the visitor center.  There was a forecast for rain, but we decided to give it a go anyway.  Right before we got into the park it started raining and thundering, but it ended up being a blessing because the park was technically closed and we didn't have to pay the $20 a car to get in.  Once in, we got a little lost.  But this too ended up being a blessing because by the time we found where we wanted to be, it had stopped raining!  It was a fun day for everyone!

The kids had a lot of fun climbing on the rocks.

Dexter had a lot of fun running around as long as he was kept from jumping in the water.

That was a fun day, even with the rain. So glad we got there before the road was washed away!
