Holiday Festivities

December 30, 2010 - Our Christmas Eve and the day Dad took his Boards. We waited for Dad by getting ready for our fun. Addie and I made some really yummy and beautiful Christmas cookies. This is what Addie looked like after making the cookies (more of the icing went in Addie than on the cookies).
When Dad got home, we went to dinner to celebrate that Dad was done with everything. What a stressful semester it has been and even though the school year is not over, we're glad we're halfway there. We then came home and opened our traditional Christmas Eve presents. This year, they all had a theme:

Here's the whole family decked out in their Hawkeye pajamas in front of our very skinny and crooked Christmas tree.

Sadly, we didn't take very many pictures on Christmas morning (lame, I know) but we did get most of it on video. I know that doesn't help you at all, but we're okay with it. But here they are playing with their gift from Santa, a wagon. And yes, that's the tree box in the background - we took down everything that afternoon because it just wasn't worth keeping up any longer the way Andres was constantly trying to kill the tree and himself in the process.

And here are some pictures of our New Year Celebration (we celebrated on January 1 at about 7:15 and then the kids went to bed). Welcome 2011!

Congratulations to Jason (and the family) for getting through the boards! Looks like you had some fabulous festivities. Your kids are great. Someday I hope to see Andres in person, but until then, keep the photos coming!

I think New Years should always be celebrated around 7:15. Staying up is way over rated. Congrats to you guys for surviving this rough time with the boards. You guys all look great!
