Of birthdays and boo-boos

So I know this is very late, and I've been slacking on this whole blog thing.  But, we truly have been very busy and hopefully things will start settling down soon.  Almost 2 months ago now, Dexter turned one!  At the time Jason was still in Colorado, so we decided to wait a few days to celebrate.  But here are the pictures I took of the big guy on his big day.  These are his 'smiles':

Just two days after his birthday we made cupcakes and opened presents.  He LOVED the cupcake and was kind of into his presents, but I think he was most excited that Dad was finally home.

You may notice a large disgusting band-aid in the picture above.  Well, that was covering the 4 stitches he had just recieved at the ER.  Yes, just as the cupcakes were coming out of the oven, we heard a very large bang.  It was Dexter's head.  We're not sure if there was any malicious involvement from his siblings, but his head very soundly found the only corner that isn't rounded.  Sad.  He actually did really well at the ER and did not cry the whole time we were waiting (a few hours) and made quite a few friends of the patients and the nurses.

Here's a look the next day when we changed the band-aid.

A little bit about Dexter at 1:
He loves music and he loves to dance - all the time!
He really loves his big sister.
He has done away with bottles entirely and is not nearly into milk as much as his brother and sister.
He doesn't have many words yet: Adda for Addie, Da for Dad, tanda for thank you, and I can't really think of any others right now although he jabbers all the time.
He's kind of a weirdo, in a good way.  And we love him.

And we love that little "weirdo"! You are certainly excused from getting on your blog the last 2 months. Been a little busy. We look forward to more frequent posts. Love you and those children!
