On Sunday, Andres was blessed by his dad. Andres got to wear the outfit made by my dad that both of his cousins were blessed in. He looked great - my dad is so amazing!
My brother Allen surprised us by driving all the way from Utah with his friend Liz so we could have some family for the blessing! We were so excited to see them and Addie had so much fun with her Uncle. She dragged him around everywhere and they played and giggled all weekend. She was shy for about 4.5 minutes and then she was crawling in his lap to snuggle with him. Jason suggested that he stay until the end of the semester since she was in such a good mood with him around. Alas, they had to go back to the lovely land of Utah and we will miss them terribly. Just FYI we survived thier departure rather well by being upfront about it instead of trying to sneak them out of the house undetected (I know some were worried).
Also, Andres is now 2 months old! Crazy, I know! Here are his stats from the doctor:
Height - 24.25 inches - 97%
Weight - 11 lbs 14 oz - 50%
Weight - 11 lbs 14 oz - 50%
Head - 16 inches - 70%
So he's very long (even though watching the nurse measure him, I think he slipped down a little in the middle of her measuring and so it's not quite accurate) and he's doing really well. He has the most wonderful smiles and makes some pretty fun noises. He gets really excited when he hears Jason's voice when he comes home and looks around to try to find him and then gives him a huge smile. He also loves his sister. Sometimes he looks a little wary of her and all her activity, but if she comes over to talk to him, he always has a smile for her too.
Addie stole a bit of her brother's thunder at his doctor's appt. as everyone said how cute she is (as they always do because she is) and then sat looking at books and pointing out all the shapes, letters, and colors she knows the whole time, impressing both the nurse and doctor. Then when it was time for Andres' shots (3 of them) I had to hold her because she had to be involved and when she saw the nurse give him the shot and how it made him cry, she got very upset and started to cry as well. She is very protective of her brother. Luckily when it was over they were both comforted rather quickly and we got out of there without much trouble.

That is awesome that Allen drove down to see ya'll for the blessing! Both of your little ones are adorable! I love the outfit that your dad made for the blessing, and how great that it has been able to be used more than once!
Those kids are so cute. I love these blogs and being able to watch them grow. You two bigger people are looking great too.
I'm so glad that Addie survived Allen leaving. I was worried. Sounds like all adapted well. The pictures are so great of the blessing outfit. Yes, your father is amazing! But then, we knew that already.
