Our Early Christmas

This year our family is celebrating Christmas a bit differently. Jason has to take his board exams on the 30th, so we're postponing our normal festivities for after that so he can enjoy and not be stressed out of his mind. Actually, he was still stressed out of his mind. And I was not very excited about spending Christmas break pretending that it was just any other time. Not fun. So, when I found out that my sister and her family were going to spend a few days in Utah with my parents, we decided that we should go too.

We got to spend some quality time with family; made treats, worked on Christmas crafts, watched girly movies and cheesy Christmas shows. And best of all, my sister and I got some much needed time away from our lovely little ones and they got to spend time with each other and Grandma and Grandpa. It worked out well for all. Since everyone was there except Jason, we celebrated Christmas while we were there. Complete with acting out the nativity:
It was the most interesting and short re-enactment I've ever witnessed, much less been a part of.

All four of the grandkids got lots of good stuff and loved opening presents. Addie had a hard time when there was nothing left to open.

One of Addie's favorite gifts was a Snow White dress. She loves Snow White! She had to put it on immediately, of course. Later cousin Thomas tried it on and I think he looked quite dashing:

Here's Grandma and Grandpa with all the grandkids. There are no words, but they were having a good time.

While we were there we were able to go down to Salt Lake (which will always be a magical place at Christmastime in my mind) to visit MY Grandma Dexter, who is serving a mission at the Family History Library. We walked around temple square a bit and took the opportunity to get this . . . photo . . . opportunity.

Grandpa and "Andy". They like each other a lot. It could be cause they have lots of physical features in common . . .

Four generations of Dexter women. The craziness continues.

Thomas is rather pretty, isn't he?

I wish we could have seen grandma Dexter as well. It looks like you had a good time.
